• Any information concerning habits and past history of the animal is passed on by Fur and Feathers Animal sanctuary in good faith. They can give me no guarantee as to the history of this animal, only the best of their knowledge based on statements from previous owner, foster or other persons.

• The animal is believed to be in normal health except where specific conditions have been made known to the Adopter.   Should the animal require veterinary assistance due to non-accident related illness within the first 7 days of  ownership, the costs of treatment will be reimbursed by the rescue and the adopter will be given the opportunity to  cancel the adoption. Where the adoption is cancelled under this clause the full adoption fee will be reimbursed. The responsibility for all future veterinary and other treatments post 7 days of ownership shall be borne solely by the Adopter.    

 

• All cats adopted from Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary will come with 5 weeks free insurance and all cats leaving our care will be immediately covered for accident related injury (policy excess applies). Illness related insurance cover begins after a waiting period of either 7 or 14 days (policy excess applies). We will advise you on the waiting period for your chosen animal at the time of adoption. We strongly advise the Adopter to arrange appropriate insurance cover for veterinary fees and liabilities that may arise from owning the animal post cessation of that policy.    

 

• The Adopter agrees to comply with all relevant regulations, legislation and laws concerning the welfare, control, responsible ownership, and protection of animals.    

  

• If adopting an unneutered kitten, the Adopter agrees to having the kitten neutered no later than when they reach 6 months old, unless there are overriding veterinary reasons for it not being possible.   If this is the case, evidence may be asked for.

 

• The Adopter agrees to maintain regular annual vaccinations boosters, unless there are overriding veterinary reasons for not doing so.   If this is the case, evidence may be asked for.

 

• The Adopter agrees to maintain the microchip records of any animal microchipped by Fur and Feathers Sanctuary by informing the microchip database of any changes of address or ownership.    

 

• The Adopter agrees not to pass on the animal to another rescue, company, family member or person without the consent from Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary. If the animal needs to return to Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary for any reason post the first 7 days of ownership there will be no refund of the adoption fee or any veterinary fees subsequently incurred.    

 

• All our cats are to be adopted on an "indoor only" basis. The Adopter agrees that the cat is to be kept indoors only unless in a secure catio, or cat-proof fenced garden.

 

• The Adopter agrees that Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary can contact them at a reasonable time by phone or email to check the animal’s welfare.    

 

• If the Terms and Conditions are broken or if the rescue considers the animal’s welfare at risk, Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary have the right to remove the animal from wherever it is residing.
